We like variety at Food from Farming. So when Louise’s Farm Kitchen got in touch with us to see if we could help her at this years Blair Atholl Horse Trials, we of course said yes.

We are all important cogs

In our opinion to be a consultant you need to understand all that’s involved and speak to people on the ground. So serving quality bacon butties, burgers, pulled pork that has a full farm to fork ethos behind it was a no brainer.

It was great to interact with the customer, hear their views on the product and the best satisfaction was the customers who returned daily for their breakfast.

Whether you’re a farmer, butcher, server, chef, delivery driver or the team at the abattoir, each and every person in the farm to fork chain is as important as the other.

Which brings me to the reason for this blog. We like to chat with the consumer and at Blair we would ask customers whether they were a visitor, organiser, competitor or a fellow trader. I asked one person whether they were competing and their response was “I’m just the groom”! Straightaway I responded with you are NOT just the groom. You are extremely important and would the rider and horse be here competing without you? We are all integral in the job we do and every role is important!

So NO, never ever say “I’m just” as your position is as important as everyone else’s.
